Rafael Andino, MS, MBA is President and CEO of Biofisica, Inc. He founded this company in 1999 with the vision of developing breakthrough products to expedite wound healing and regeneration of connective tissue in humans. Mr. Andino has successfully led the biotechnology company through five rounds of fundraising. In late 2006, Mr. Andino and his management team launched the first wound care product of its kind, POSiFECT® , in the United Kingdom. The product will be subsequently marketed throughout Europe in 2007 and beyond. In addition, the company has begun early stage submission and filing processes for POSiFECT® with the FDA in the United States.

Prior to founding Biofisica, Mr. Andino was a research & development director and senior project manager for CIBA Vision, a leading contact lens and lens care product company. CIBA Vision is a business unit of Novartis AG, one of the largest healthcare companies in the world.  

Mr. Andino received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, a Masters of Science in biomedical engineering from the University of Alabama and an MBA from Mercer University.

Steve Bachman has thirty years experience in sales, marketing, operations, and corporate management in the technology industry with startup and fast growth technology products and service companies.  He is currently CEO at Hi Tech Partners, a management consulting firm focusing on turning around technology businesses.  Steve’s experience includes a successful track record with self funded and venture capital funded businesses, with multiple successes in creating shareholder value through profitable company growth and sale of businesses to McAfee, Xcelerate, Renaissance, NetIQ, and Computer Associates.

Steve’s recent activities include leading the redesign of the North American sales channel strategy and reseller programs for PestPatrol, a leading provider of Spyware security software. Upon its sale to Computer Associates (NYSE: CA), Steve then led Computer Associates' integration of the PestPatrol North American reseller channel into the CA sales channel. Prior to PestPatrol, Steve was Chairman Sellera, LLC, a field sales and marketing company which provided on-site sales and training services to technology products companies distributing products to resellers such as Best Buy, CompUSA, Circuit City, and OfficeMax. Sellera clients included BellSouth, Dell. EarthLink, Klipsch Audio, and SimpleTech.

As CEO of Marshal Software LLC, an email and web content security company, Steve developed the organization's launch strategy, set up the US operations, and grew the America’s Group to 120+ Resellers and $455K per month in revenues in the 18 months before the company was sold to NetIQ Corp. (NASDAQ: NTIQ). Following the acquisition, Bachman led the integration of Marshal's North and South American operations, resellers, customers, and employees into the NetIQ organization.

As founder and CEO of Insight International, an Atlanta-based venture catalyst and consultancy, Steve assisted emerging software, hardware, professional service, and telecom technology companies in North America, Europe and Asia to develop and execute strategic programs that enhance shareholder value. Insights clients included Sophos (a UK based anti-virus security company), Apsylog (a French based network management company later sold to Peregrine), Kane Security Analyst (sold to Intrusion), and Opis (sold to Saleslogix).

Steve is a Co-Founder and serves on the Board of Directors of the Wireless Technology Forum, is a founding director or the Institute for Enterprise & Innovation. TAG’s Southeastern Software Association (SSA) where he was President in 1999 and 2001. Steve was a founding director of TAG (Technology Association of Georgia) and the SSA’s Web Challenge, and a past director of SciTrek, The Business and Technology Alliance, the Interactive Media Alliance, the Windows / Presentation Managers Association and the ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) Association of Georgia.

Scott E. Kraun possesses an outstanding record of career results across diverse roles within the healthcare and life sciences industries.  He currently serves as Principal of the SEK Consulting Group providing guidance and project management services to pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies as well as medical communications agencies.  Scott focuses on strategic medical marketing, development of Key Opinion Leader (KOL) management plans and Medical Science Liaison (MSL) teams aligned with those initiatives.  Most recently, Scott constructed the MSL team and all related infrastructure for Vanda Pharmaceuticals., an emerging company employing pharmacogenetics to develop treatments for CNS disorders

Prior to joining Vanda, Scott served as Vice President, MSL Programs, at Science Oriented Solutions (SOS), a role in which he was responsible for launching numerous MSL programs.  Importantly, he successfully developed strategic plans for initiating and expanding the MSL role for both SOS and its clients.  In addition, Scott was responsible for the management and oversight of existing business relationships, ensuring that all productivity objectives were maximized.  During his 8 year tenure, Scott built MSL teams in multiple therapeutic areas including CNS disorders, infectious diseases, cardiovascular diseases, urology, and oncology.

Scott joined SOS from Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories, a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer at which he held progressive roles in sales, management, and advocacy development.  Scott acquired a diverse range of commercial knowledge and experience during his 10 year tenure.  Notably, he was responsible for the overall management of business relationships with targeted KOLs, developing specialized initiatives and programs resulting in productive collaborations with those medical authorities.  Before joining the pharmaceutical industry, Scott oversaw a top-performing region as Assistant Regional Sales & Marketing Manager for a leading business and consumer products company.

Terence A. Walts is a seasoned medical device executive and serial entrepreneur with 19 years industry experiences. While at and following employment as SVP-New Business Development with CIBA Vision/Novartis (NYSE: NVS), he has been associated with 10 different medical start-ups (5 full-time and 5 parttime) as CEO, COO, President, CMO, Director and/or Consultant. He has led or helped two start-ups go public (IPO and RPO). Three start-ups have been subsequently acquired by industry leaders or strategic investors. In his start-up career, he has personally raised or helped raise over $60 million in start-up financings. Mr. Walts became President, CEO and Director of Transfusion & Transplantation Technologies LLC (.3Ti.) in late 2006. 3Ti is an early stage in-vitro diagnostics company developing novel automated blood analyzer technology and associated consumables for the pre-transfusion blood bank market worldwide.

Prior to joining 3Ti, Mr. Walts served for three years and until late 2005 as President, CEO of Refocus Group (RFCS:OTCBB), a late stage device start-up developing a surgical procedure for presbyopia and glaucoma. Additionally he served as Director of Refocus from 2003 until late 2005 and through the sale of Refocus to a strategic investor. In late 2005 he was appointed and continues to serve as Director of VirtualScopics (NASDAQ:VSCP) a leading provider of medical imaging solutions helping accelerate drug and medical device development. In 2001 and through August 2002, he served as COO, Director of Oncose, an early-stage blood diagnostics start-up developing in-vitro immunoassay blood tests for the early detection of certain cancers. He continued to serve Oncose as Director until mid-2005. In addition, Mr. Walts has consulted in the areas of blood glucose diagnostics (CIBA Vision/Novartis.diagnostics contact lens, 2001); novel drug delivery (AerovectRx--drug inhaler, 2006); age-related macular degeneration.AMD (Apeliotus.diagnostics device, 2006/07 and Macular Regeneration.surgical treatment designed to restore vision, 2007); and medical imaging software (PointDx.virtual colonoscopy and structured radiology reporting software, 2000-01). [PointDx was subsequently acquired by IDX and then by GE Healthcare.] In 1998-99, Mr. Walts served as President, COO of Medjet, an early stage start-up developing novel high pressure water-jet technology for selected medical and surgical applications. Mr. Walts began his medical device career in 1988 as SVP, Sales and Marketing for CIBA Vision responsible for CIBA.s $200 million U.S. contact lens and lens care business; and as SVP, New Business Development. While employed by and on behalf of CIBA, Mr. Walts served from 1995-98 as Chief Marketing Officer & Director of Autonomous Technologies (NASDAQ: ATCI).a refractive laser surgery start-up. Mr. Walts was responsible for helping take Autonomous public in 1996 (IPO-$20 million). [Autonomous was subsequently acquired by Summit Technologies and then by Alcon Laboratories.]

 Prior to entering medical devices, Mr. Walts worked from 1971-87 in the consumer packaged goods industry holding various marketing/product management positions with Lever Brothers, General Foods and Sara Lee.  He holds a BS in marketing from Indiana University and an MBA from Notre Dame.
